In November 2016 we made the decision to get legally married. Even though we’d been engaged for more than a year, it was bittersweet - born out of fear and grasping for a sense of security. And since it all happened so fast we never got the chance to celebrate with everyone we love. We’d still hoped to have a wedding but those plans got derailed by life, the pandemic, costs, etc. and eventually we gave up on the idea. So as we approached our ten year anniversary (which just happens to be the same year we both turn 40) we threw cocktail party of our dreams, and we were finally able host all of our favorite people for a blowout celebration. We danced, we laughed, we cried, we threw dollars at a drag queen. And we couldn’t have asked for anything more.
